I started this blog because I went to WordCamp Europe 2026, listened to a lot of fantastic talks, had fantastic conversations, and came home with the kind of conviction you usually only get from a fortune cookie or a strongly worded email: someone should write down how to make Project Management easier with the tools available to us. So here I am, writing it down.
I’m Allie. I’ve been working in the digital world since the late nineteen hundreds – yes, that’s a deliberate joke about my age – and for the last ten years I’ve been a project manager. I started out as a developer, which means I’ve sat on both sides of the “can we just push this live on Friday” conversation, and currently I’m a Senior PM at Filter, an agency where I spend a lot of my time being the calm, slightly amused bridge between a dev team and the people paying for their work.
I’m PRINCE2 trained, which sounds drier than it is. Mostly it means I have opinions about RAID logs and I’m not afraid to use them. I’ve talked about all this on stage too: in 2025 I gave a talk at #WPLDN called 5 Project Management Tips to Make Any WordPress Project Run Smoothly (and May Help You Win a Bake Off), which is either the most or least serious title I could have chosen, depending on the day.
Since early 2026 I’ve been quietly rebuilding the way I work, with AI doing a lot of the admin I used to do at half ten at night with a cold cup of tea going cold next to me. This isn’t a “ten productivity hacks” account of that – it’s the actual, sometimes ridiculous process of figuring out what a chatbot is and isn’t good at when you hand it a real project.
This site is where the tips, the workflows, and the lessons I’d rather laugh about than relive all end up. Mostly the kind of thing I’d tell you over coffee, not present at you in a meeting that could have been an email.
If you’d like to talk speaking, or just say hello, I’m on LinkedIn.
